When I announced my fourth startup, Brain Box Gurukul (BBG), back in mid-January, I made a public commitment: to build it in the open. Truth be told, apart from a couple of episodes and a single newsletter, I fell short on that promise.
But here I am, exactly 5 months later, recommitting with more clarity, more intent - and more systems in place. If you're a regular, you'd have noticed a radically different email template. For those of you who’ve joined recently:
- At Brain Box Catalysts (BBC), we run a Done-For-You 360° Personal Branding & PR agency with 150+ clients & were selected in the Global Top 10 Agencies in 2024 by Design Rush.
- Brain Box Gurukul is our Do-It-Yourself counterpart, a platform to share practical insights, playbooks, and frameworks leveraging AI & social media.
The Goal?
To democratize Personal Branding, Podcasting, Sales, Franchising & Wellness. Without the content chaos. By transparently sharing what works today (have to be up-to-date in the agency).
Why This Newsletter Matters
In a world obsessed with social media follower counts and LinkedIn newsletter vanity metrics, one of the most underrated assets in 2025 is still an actual email list.
People who’ve consciously opted in to hear from you. Who allow you to intrude into their inbox. Who, by default, are more invested than any algorithm-sent audience.

What We’ve Been Up To (These Past 5 Months)
While we did launch 5 months ago, the team were working tirelessly to ensure our Agency could run with minimal oversight. We are leveraging AI workflows & smart automation heavily. For BBG, we’ve been rigorously experimenting with this newsletter, testing out what works and what doesn't.
The results? Slow, steady organic growth - nearly 2 subscribers a day - no paid ads, no growth hacks. Just consistency and relevance. And today marks a small milestone:
💫 This is the first newsletter being sent from our dedicated Brain Box Gurukul domain.
To intentionally differentiate our businesses (and also to get best of both worlds), we are now leveraging Microsoft 365, Kit & Graphy for our entire BBG business. Our agency continues on Google Workspace.
